A New Year, A Fresh Start

Each new year, we have before us a brand-new canvas containing a new landscape to ensure we reach our goals and achieve success in the new year. No matter your role in the payroll department, YOU can make a difference. “You don’t have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great” Zig Zigler Our challenges are many each year as we embark through the many facets of our responsibilities. As leaders and team members there are countless opportunities to inspire our teams and ourselves. How we approach our challenges defines our successes. Let’s discover how we can avoid the same old story and overcome the same old ending. Assuredly there will be new challenges we have not faced before, but as we explore how to meet these head on, we can ensure it doesn’t derail our departments.

About our Speaker:

Martha Baxter recently semi-retired from her 48-year-long payroll career where in her last position she served as the VP of Human Resources and Payroll. She still works full time as the Business Office Manager for Amedisys Home Health.

With her experience, Martha has led payroll teams throughout her career specializing in implementation and multi-state payroll. Martha has contributed to both her local chapter and served on the state level as past president of the Texas Payroll Conference at the National level as Board of Advisors for the American Payroll Association (PayOrg). During her payroll journey she has received numerous awards including Dallas Chapter Payroll Professional of the Year, Texas Payroll Professional of the Year and achieved national recognition with the prestigious Meritorious Service Award from American Payroll Association. White serving nationally, she has been a member of several payroll committees.

Martha has continued to speak at the local, state, and national level, sharing her extensive payroll knowledge, specializing in Leadership. She has also contributed by teaching both FPC and CPP classes for her local chapter.

Martha’s passion for payroll continues to be her vision.
