Candace Harden is a Senior Stakeholder Liaison (SL) in the Communications and Liaison Division of the Internal Revenue Service.  Candace’s goal as an SL is to build and engage in valuable relationships with, but not limited to, industry, tax professional, multilingual, and underserved stakeholders by providing outreach and education about the IRS’s current policies, practices, and procedures. This is accomplished through means including, but not limited to, stakeholder sponsored virtual events, webinars, face-to-face meetings, seminars, conferences/conventions, and other information sharing events.

 

Candace’s career with the IRS began in 2005 as a Revenue Agent in the Small Business Self-Employed Division.  This role encompassed various types of examinations of individual and business returns for small business and self-employed individuals.  Candace served in this role for over 15 years, before transitioning to the role of Senior Stakeholder Liaison in 2022. 

 

In addition to her career at the Internal Revenue Service, Candace teaches accounting courses at Lone Star College, which is a local community college in the Houston, TX area.  She also teaches virtual accounting courses for The University of London – London School of Economics and Political Science.

 

Candace’s education includes a BA in Accounting from Texas Southern University, located in Houston, TX, and a Global MBA from University of Houston - Victoria.

 

During her free time, Candace loves to sing, travel, and shop!
